An official reproduction of Luke Skywalker's lightsaber from Star Wars: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, the Luke Skywalker (Episode VI) lightsaber features a permanently attached polycarbonate blade with igniting/glowing with LED-powered power-up and power-down lights effects, and motion sensor controlled sound effects---power-up, power-down, idle, movement, and clash---digitally recorded from the movie. The Luke Skywalker (Episode VI) FX Lightsaber requires, but does not include, 6 AA batteries, and is accompanied by a display stand. Following in the wake of the demoralizing defeat suffered in the bowels of Cloud City, Luke Skywalker recovered and participated in an effort, along with Leia, Chewbacca, Lando, R2-D2 and C3P-O, to rescue the carbonite-frozen Han Solo from the clutches of Jabba the Hutt. Later, during the Rebellionâ?TMs assault on the Imperial Shield Generator on Hoth, Skywalker allowed himself to be captured by the Imperials in the hopes of convincing his father, Darth Vader, to abandon the Dark Side.

No, this is the new much cheaper version meant for kids that Amazon is selling elsewhere for $30. What is listed above is NOT what you will be getting- in effect, you'll be paying double for a child's toy, not a collectors item. I plan on surprising my kids for the holidays but I am actually more amazed right now. I ordered the purple light saber along with the red one. Other reviews state the green is brightest and I can confirm that. It is brighter and the handle having shinny metal and a cooler design than the Mace Windu and Vader light sabers. Let's see what the kids think. They can choose what color they like best and what's GREAT about Amazon it can be returned and exchanged if each kid happens to love JUST the GREEN light saber as it's my favorite. Yes, its more expensive than others but shipping from Amazon was free other seller asked for 13+ for shipping so total cost would have been the same as my Amazon shipping was free as a prime member. As a 26+ year Star wars fan and now my kids have seen all 6 films and fallen in love with them this is just an amazing gift to those who would appreciate its lifelike sci-fi come to their real life device.
